Chapter Lunch Meeting
Member Dave Pitts will present on reconditioning a 1950’s rail car for operation in the modern world. The Colorado Pine went through years of work to end up like it is seen in the photograph. Dave’s presentation covers the highlights of the process.

Chapter member Chip Sherman will show us the latest doings at the famous Spencer Shops, in North Carolina.

Richard Luckin presents his new Ski Train video! This newly updated version includes scenes of the Ski Train’s successor, the Amtrak Winter Park Express. It should be interesting to see how this influences the story! This is a reschedule from October and November.

Chapter Lunch Meeting
Christof Kheim, Executive Director, will present a video and answer questions about the history of the Forney Museum of Transportation. Most railroad enthusiasts in the area know about the Union Pacific 'Big Boy' Steam Locomotive #4005 that is at the museum. What other pieces of railroadiana, as well as transportation in general, does it house? Attend and find out.

September’s meeting will be our Leadville trip (no Malones). PLEASE EMAIL US TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE ON THE BUS AND TRAIN. This will be a Wednesday trip (as of now) to avoid crowds and traffic on a Saturday. More details follow below. Lunch in Leadville. Chapter members receive trip discount! The Como Depot/Boreas Pass Day will be on this date in Como. We hope that you will attend if you are in the area.

Chip Sherman highlights the NRHS Spring Conference in CedarRapids, IA, the special train to Silvis, IL, and the tour of the Silvis Shop Complex where the UP Challenger, UP 2-10-2 5511, and Centennial 6936 are being restored.
