NRHS Heritage Grants won

Three historic rail venues in Colorado won national NRHS Heritage Grants! The South Park Rail Society was awarded $4500 for desperately needed electrical upgrades to the Como Roundhouse. The Hinsdale County Historical Society, Lake City, CO, will receive $5,000 to
restore the floor of 1881 Jackson & Sharp D&RG narrow gauge combine # 211. Finally, the Western Museum of Mining and Industry of Colorado Springs was awarded $2500 to restore 2 narrow gauge freight cars, including a bottom-dump gondola. Colorado did very well this year!
Your Chapter president is honored to serve on the Heritage Grant Committee, which assists in providing local information and background on the applicants. Indeed, the Chapter provided a letter of support for the SPRS application.
