Learn More About The Intermountain Chapter

The Intermountain Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society was chartered in 1961 and became active in locating historical rail equipment as well as operating numerous rail excursions, before mainline steam power largely vanished. The Chapter owned a pair of railcars and even, briefly, a large steam locomotive, which have all been donated to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Today’s excursions are typically by chartered bus to various historic railroad venues in the region.
